CPI rises 1.4 percent in year to March

China’s consumer price index for March rose by 1.4 percent compared to the same period in 2014, with urban areas seeing a rise of this amount and rural areas experiencing a rise of 1.2 percent.

The average CPI from January to March increased by 1.2 percent from the same period last year.

The food price index in March rose by 2.3 percent compared to the same period last year, and the non-food price index rose by 0.9 percent.

The CPI and the food price index in March, however, decreased from February.

The producer price index in March decreased by 4.6 percent compared to the same period last year but in March it dropped by 0.1 percent from the previous month.
