BEIJING — China's postal industry saw a 21.5-percent rise in business revenue year-on-year to reach 606 billion yuan ($85.16 billion) in the first eight months, data from the State Post Bureau showed.
The postal industry continued to gain momentum, with its business volume surging 31.1 percent year-on-year to 982.94 billion yuan, said the bureau.
In August, the industry's business revenue jumped 22.9 percent to 77.28 billion yuan while business volume expanded by 37.2 percent to 134.92 billion yuan.
The country's express delivery sector has seen faster expansion, as express delivery firms made 38.3 billion deliveries from January to August, up 26.6 percent year-on-year. Business revenue of these firms jumped 24.4 percent year-on-year to come in at 462.18 billion yuan over the same period.
