BEIJING — China's major textile companies reported lower revenues and profits in the first four months of this year, official data showed.
Revenues of major textile companies shrank by 19.7 percent year-on-year to 1.19 trillion yuan ($168.3 billion) during the four-month period, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Profits of these companies dropped by 32.1 percent to 37.7 billion yuan from a year earlier.
Major textile companies refer to those with an annual business turnover of at least 20 million yuan.
