BEIJING — The wholesale prices of China's agricultural products registered a slight uptick on July 14, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The latest China agricultural product wholesale price index came in at 116.29, up 0.14 points from July 13.
By 2 pm on July 14, the average wholesale price of pork, a staple meat in China, eased 0.1 percent to 48.8 yuan (about $6.97) per kg, while eggs gained 0.5 percent to 6.47 yuan per kg.
The average wholesale price of 28 key types of vegetables tracked by the government was up 0.2 percent from July 13, while six different types of fruits saw average price up by 1.7 percent.
The wholesale price index is compiled from data collected from around 200 agricultural wholesale markets and is updated daily based on the weighted average of price indices for goods including vegetables, fruit, aquatic products, livestock products, cereals, and edible vegetable oil.
