BEIJING — China's major power plants generated 631.5 billion kWh of power in September, up 5.3 percent year-on-year, data showed.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the growth rate was 1.5 percentage points lower than that of August.
Thermal power production edged up 0.2 percent year-on-year in September, while power generated by nuclear plants and wind farms grew 7.4 percent and 11.3 percent, respectively, the NBS said.
During the first nine months of the year, China's major power plants generated about 5.41 trillion kWh of power, up 0.9 percent over the same period last year.
