From March 26 to April 2, the China agricultural product wholesale price index came in at 126.19, down 0.94 points week-on-week.

On a weekly basis, the average wholesale price of pork, a staple meat in China, dropped 2.6 percent to 35.77 yuan (about $5.4) per kg, and that of chicken fell 0.1 percent to 17.67 yuan per kg.

The average wholesale prices of 19 key types of vegetables tracked by the government dropped 0.8 percent from the previous week.
