BEIJING — China's garment industry reported higher revenue and profit in the first 10 months of 2021, official data showed.
From January to October, the combined operating revenue of 12,591 major garment companies reached 1.18 trillion yuan (about $185.59 billion), up 8.3 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Total profits of these companies rose 4.6 percent from a year earlier to 53.4 billion yuan in the period, while the combined output expanded 8.9 percent year-on-year to 19.1 billion pieces.
The country's exports of garments and accessories increased 25.2 percent year-on-year to $138.9 billion.
