BEIJING — China's commercial cargo transport logged steady growth in the first quarter of the year (Q1), data from the Ministry of Transport showed.
The country's commercial freight volume went up 1.5 percent year-on-year to 11.29 billion tons in the period, according to the ministry.
A total of 8.15 billion tons of road cargo were transported in Q1, up 0.4 percent from the same period last year.
China's water freight volume amounted to 1.93 billion tons in the same period, climbing 5.2 percent from one year earlier, the data showed.
