BEIJING, Feb. 4 -- China's logistics activities eased in January as the Spring Festival holiday reduced business volume in the sector, industry data showed.
The index tracking the country's logistics market performance stood at 44.7 percent in January, down 1.3 percentage points from December 2022, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.
A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.
The decline indicates reduced logistics business scale due to holiday factors, according to the federation.
The sub-index for business activity expectations reached 55.6 percent in January, up 7 percentage points month on month, indicating that logistics firms had an optimistic view of the sector's future development.
