BEIJING, June 30 -- The State Council, China's cabinet, announced on Friday the appointment and removal of officials.

Guo Fang was appointed vice minister of ecology and environment, while Wang Hui was named vice minister of housing and urban-rural development.

Liu Huanxin and Wu Hongyao were appointed vice ministers of agriculture and rural affairs, while Gou Ping was appointed vice chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

Liu was also named director of the National Rural Revitalization Administration.

Li Meng was removed from the post of vice minister of science and technology.
