BEIJING, June 30 -- China will launch a series of activities spread over a week in mid-July to celebrate the 19th Maritime Day of China, which falls on July 11.
The activities will begin in the morning of the maritime day in north China's Cangzhou City with a forum, Fu Xuyin, vice minister of transport, told a press conference Friday.
A report on the development of China's shipping industry in 2022 will be released at the main forum. Outstanding individuals and technological results in the maritime sector will receive awards, said Fu.
There will also be themed meetings on navigation technology and safety, international mariners, port and shipping companies, dredging, and maritime culture.
The ensuing week will see more public events, including a maritime arts competition, a knowledge quiz, and a speech competition, said the ministry.
