BEIJING, July 11 -- Work teams have been dispatched to east China's Jiangsu Province and southwest China's Sichuan Province to guide flood relief efforts, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management.
China's State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a level-IV emergency response for flood risks in the two provinces before dispatching work teams on Tuesday, the ministry said.
The headquarters has instructed local authorities to conduct close monitoring work, step up forecasts and alerts, and work to ward off flooding, geological disasters and other salient disaster risks.
China has a four-tier flood control emergency response system, with level I being the most severe response.
