Construction teams completed the closure of a continuous beam bridge on Tuesday, marking a landmark step in the progress toward the completion of the Nanchang-Jiujiang High-speed Railway. With a total mileage of about 160 meters, the two-lane bridge is a crucial component of the major high-speed railway linking the north and south regions of the country, which is part of a planned corridor connecting Beijing to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Nanchang-Jiujiang high-speed railway has a planned total length of 138 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
