The drilling project on the Kenli 6-1 oilfield, with 100 million tonnes of reserves in the Bohai Sea, has been completed. Production at the oilfield has now reached close to 10,000 cubic meters of crude output per day.
The landmark project consists of three blocks tapped by nine drilling platforms that have cumulatively drilled 177 wells, the largest offshore drilling program in China to date in terms of scale, speed and number of platforms.
Located in the southern Bohai waters with an average depth of 19 meters, the shallow-water Kenli 6-1 field is China's first discovery exceeding 100 million tonnes in the Laibei Lower Uplift area of the Bohai Sea.
