Chinese people across the country celebrated National Day on October 1 with a variety of colorful activities. Passengers and crew aboard a bullet train on the world's highest and longest plateau railroad, the Qinghai-Xizang railway, joined in singing praises to their motherland.
Many parents chose to mark the date by taking their children on patriotic tours in museums, memorials and former revolutionary sites, such as the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum in east China's Jiangxi Province.
