BEIJING, Oct. 5 -- Chinese railways, power grids and airports are working to guarantee safe return trips as the eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday will end on Friday.
The country recorded more than 17 million railway trips on Wednesday and expects to see 17.95 million trips on Thursday, according to data from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway).
The company plans to put 12,351 trains in operation to cater to the travel demand.
Local subsidiaries of China Railway and some airports are improving passenger services, while the Guiyang bureau of China Southern Power Grid has emergency maintenance teams on call 24/7 to ensure the safe functioning of power facilities.
