SEOUL, May 26 -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Sunday urged Japan to earnestly fulfill its responsibilities and obligations regarding the release of the nuclear-contaminated wastewater from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

Li made the remarks during his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the ninth Trilateral Summit Meeting among China, Japan and South Korea.

The release of the wastewater bears on the health of humanity, Li added.
