China's first visa-free flight from Georgia arrives in Urumqi, Xinjiang
Updated: May 29, 2024 17:29 CGTN

On May 28, the visa exemption agreement between China and Georgia came into effect. At 7:35 a.m. on the same day, the inaugural flight from Georgia, flight CZ6040 from Tbilisi, the nation's capital, arrived at Urumqi International Airport.

Georgia is the second country to enjoy the mutual visa exemption policy through the Urumqi International Airport after Kazakhstan, which implemented a similar policy with China in November last year.

With the mutual exemption agreement between China and Georgia now in effect, Chinese and Georgian tourists can more easily "exchange visits" and further promote exchanges between the two sides in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and culture.
