KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 -- China-Malaysia relations have reached a new starting point, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said here Wednesday.

The two sides should carry forward traditional friendship, consolidate the foundation of bilateral ties, and integrate the joint building of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future into all aspects of their cooperation, Li said.

Li made the remarks during a reception celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia and the "China-Malaysia Friendship Year."
