China's independently developed offshore drilling platform, Xijiang 30-2B, has been installed in the South China Sea, according to the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.
The massive structure, situated roughly 150 to 175 kilometers southeast of Shenzhen City in south China's Guangdong Province, weighs over 30,000 tonnes, exceeding the weight of steel used for two Canton Towers. It boasts an area of contour as spacious as 10 standard basketball courts.
