MACAO, Dec. 19 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said Thursday that the executive, legislative and judicial organs of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) have comprehensively, accurately and unwaveringly implemented the "one country, two systems" policy.
When meeting with officials of the three organs, Xi said they have performed their duties pragmatically and effectively over the past five years, headed by Macao SAR Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng.
The achievements of the current Macao SAR government are remarkable and widely recognized, Xi said, noting that the central government fully acknowledges and highly appreciates it.
Thanks to efforts of successive terms of the SAR government in uniting all sectors of society to continue striving forward, Macao has achieved leapfrog development and the practice of "one country, two systems" in Macao has been a great success, he said.
Xi also expressed the hope that the officials will fully support the incoming chief executive and the new SAR government, continue to contribute to the development of Macao, and make efforts to build a better Macao.
On Thursday afternoon, Xi also met with representatives of the Macao SAR's disciplined services.
Cai Qi and other senior officials attended the meetings. Ho and incoming Macao SAR Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai also participated in the activities.
