China's 41st Antarctic expedition reached a key milestone as the icebreaker Xuelong 2 and cargo vessel Yong Sheng arrived at Qinling Station, the country's fifth research base on the continent. Over five days, 5,462 tonnes of supplies, including construction materials, research equipment and fuel, will be unloaded via barge, with some materials and waste to be transported back to China. Launched on November 1, the seven-month mission involves three ships – Xuelong, Xuelong 2 and Yong Sheng.
