A ceremony is held to mark the drill-through of the Tongchuan tunnel along the Xi'an-Yan'an high-speed railway in Tongchuan, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on Feb. 13, 2025. The Tongchuan tunnel was drilled through on Thursday, which marked that all 47 tunnels along this 299-kilometer high-speed railway have been drilled through. Once accomplished and operational, the new railway will allow trains to run at the speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and shorten the trip between Xi'an and Yan'an from 2.5 hours to around one hour.
