China, Italy to witness docking of nearly 300 projects

BEIJING — Nearly 300 projects, as well as 50 cooperation intentions, are expected to be matched between China and Italy at the China Italy Science, Technology and Innovation Week that kicked off on Nov 26 in Beijing.

Sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Ministry of Education, University and Research of Italy, the four-day event will see in-depth discussions in a dozen fields such as smart city, biological medicine and medical equipment, aerospace, modern agriculture and food safety.

The forums and exchanges touched upon specific topics including liver cancer therapeutic innovation approach, enabling technologies and services supporting elderly people at home and museums and digital technologies.

Italian participants from governments, universities, science and research institutions and enterprises will also visit Beijing's leading science park and Tsinghua University.

The annual event, launched in 2010, has become an important platform for the two countries for sharing sci-tech innovation resources. Over 5,700 project dockings and 1,000 cooperation intentions have been made over the past 10 years.
