BEIJING — The third ministerial conference of the Ancient Civilizations Forum concluded in Beijing on Nov 30 as the participating ministers stressed to learn from ancient civilizations.
Officials from Armenia, China, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Italy, and Peru communicated on protecting cultural heritage and deepening cultural cooperation during the conference, which ran from Nov 27 to Nov 30.
Ancient civilizations and traditional cultures should play their due role in contemporary society and provide wisdom for coping with global problems, said the participants.
"Only by protecting, inheriting and developing the fine traditional culture, can countries with ancient civilizations shine in the new era and provide spiritual support for their own and even global development," said Minister of Culture and Tourism Luo Shugang when addressing the conference.
The next ministerial conference will be held in Peru in 2020.
