NANNING — The 16th China-ASEAN Cultural Forum kicked off in Nanning, the capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on July 23.
Themed "high-quality development and international cooperation of cultural industry," the forum aims to exchange and promote the practical experience of cultural industry development between China and ASEAN countries and explore the trend of high-quality development of cultural industry in the new era.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the regional government of Guangxi, about 300 cultural and tourism experts from China and ASEAN countries participated in the event.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue between China and the ASEAN. The cultural forum is a high-level forum under the China-ASEAN Expo.
With the increasing people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade exchanges between the two sides, the cooperation in the fields of cultural and creative industries, performing arts, animation, film and television, and publishing has been deepened in recent years, said Chen Dehai, secretary-general of ASEAN-China Center.
