A total of 422 new products, technologies and services were featured during the fourth China International Import Expo, a new record high, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau on Nov 10.
The medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition area had 135 technology and product debuts, the most out of all the other areas.
The six-day CIIE, which concluded on Nov 10, attracted nearly 480,000 professional visitors. The total exhibition area at this year's edition was a record 366,000 square meters, up 6,000 sq m from a year earlier.
Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the value of intended deals reached at this year's CIIE totaled $70.72 billion, down 2.6 percent year-on-year.
A total of 281 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders were present at this year's exhibition, among which 40 joined the CIIE for the first time and 120 were fourth time participants.
The display of consumer goods this year occupied 90,000 sq m of exhibition space, the largest among all areas. The food and agricultural products exhibition area accommodated the most exhibitors, attracting 1,200 companies from 102 countries. All of the world's top 10 carmakers attended the expo.
Up to 150,000 sq m of exhibition area has already been booked for next year's expo, a considerable increase in sign-up rate compared to last year, said Sun.
