The injection-production station of Wen 23 Gas Storage in Puyang city, Central China's Henan province, on Oct 17. Wen 23 Gas Storage is a natural gas bank and key construction project in the 13th national five-year plan. It has a 10.4 billion-cubic-kilometer total capacity. The first stage of the project, completed on Aug 1, 2019, has a reservoir capacity reaching 8.4 billion cubic kilometers, and its overall gas-injection amounted to 2.7 billion cubic kilometers by Oct 16. Wen 23 Gas Storage will be able to provide 30 million cubic meters of gas per day to Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and other neighboring regions. As an underground gas depot, Wen 23 Gas Storage functions with an enormous amount of natural gas injected and stored inside, which acts as a multifunctional energy infrastructure.
