China's first Yellow River tunnel resumes construction

China's first Yellow River tunnel has recently resumed construction, according to the China Railway Construction Corporation Limited. Located in East China's Jinan, the tunnel is the country's and even the world's widest shield tunnel under construction for both rail and road transport. With a total length of 4.76 km, the tunnel contains two levels. A two-way six-lane highway is on the upper level and the lower level is reserved for rail transit, flues and escape channels.
