Two residents in their home at Fujiawan community of Fucun village in Jingwu township, Xiqing district, North China’s Tianjin municipality, July 7, 2020. Several rounds of urbanization transformation over recent years have significantly improved living conditions in the village of some 2,500 inhabitants. Due to its proximity to universities, the village has been a hot spot for commercial property development, as well as rental and property management services. In 2019, the village earned about 68 million yuan ($9.72 million), 50,000 yuan of income per capita, with an average living space of about 100 square meters per person.
