Red alert issued to prevent floods in Minjiang River

The Three Gorges reservoir discharges water on Aug 18, 2020. The Changjiang Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources on Aug 18 released a red alert for floods in the Minjiang River, a tributary of the upper Yangtze River. It also issued orange alerts for the Yibin-Cuntan section, Tuojiang and Fujiang rivers of the upper Yangzte River, yellow alerts for the Jialing River and Three Gorges reservoir, and blue alerts for the Chenglingji section, Jiujiang-Nanjing section, and Poyang and Dongting lakes in the middle and lower Yangtze River.
