Planting nuts boosts farmers' income in N China’s Hebei

Farmers dry walnuts in Shiqiaotou village, Dongjiuzhai town, Zunhua, a county-level city in North China’s Hebei province, on Sept 13. The town, taking advantage of its mountainous location, has been developing nut planting in recent years, with about 16,000 mu (1,067 hectares) of various hickories. A model that integrates agricultural cooperatives, bases and farming households has helped more than 3,000 farming households in the town increase their income. [Photo/Xinhua]
