The 86.5-km-long Shantou-Jiexi expressway, which links Shantou city and Jiexi county in Guangdong, is projected to be open to traffic by the end of this year. The expressway will further shorten the travel time between the eastern part of Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area while strengthening economic ties between the two regions.
