New model of potato harvester debuts in NW China’s Ningxia

A new model of potato harvester is unveiled at Fengbao village of Zhonghe township in the Yuanzhou district of Guyuan city in Northwest China’s Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Oct 20, 2020. Each machine can collect about 80 metric tons of potatoes per day. With a cultivation area of 135,000 mu (about 9,000 hectares), potato planting is a strength of Yuanzhou district and takes primacy in local poverty alleviation efforts. In recent years, the district has been advancing mechanized operation and upgrades of machinery in the agricultural sector. By the end of 2019, the mechanization rate for farm produce across the district reached 72 percent. [Photo/Xinhua]
