Railway station maintenance workers busy during travel rush

Nanning East Railway Station is located in the capital city of South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. It has a lot of equipment, including 212 water lifting units, 10,658 lights, 36 elevators, 94 escalators and 35 toilets, requiring professionals to patrol and maintain it on a regular basis to fix malfunctions in time. The station’s equipment workshop has 15 workers for the job, who are called “emergency physicians” of the equipment. During the Spring Festival travel rush, they have seen more frequent maintenance and reconditioning work. [Photo/Xinhua]
