Baihetan Hydropower Station in SW China under construction

An aerial photo taken on Feb 9, 2021, shows the Baihetan Hydropower Station. The Baihetan Hydropower Station on the Jinshajiang River in the Wumeng Mountain area is under construction. It is located at the juncture between Qiaojia county, Southwest China's Yunnan province, and Ningnan county, Southwest China's Sichuan province. Boasting of an installed gross capacity of 16 million kilowatts and single-machine capacity of 1 million kilowatts, the Baihetan Hydropower Station is the biggest of its kind under construction. Its first plant is set to go into operation for power generation by July 2021. Over 9,000 front line workers are hard at work during the Spring Festival. [Photo/Xinhua]
