Photovoltaic power plant nears completion in Inner Mongolia

Photo taken on July 8, 2021 shows the photovoltaic power generation demonstration project at the coal mining subsidence area in Ejin Horo banner, Erdos city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region. With the main part completed recently, the power generation project, with a total installed capacity of 500,000 kilowatts, is entering its final stage, and is expected to be connected to the grid within this year. The project covers an area of about 42,000 mu (2,800 hectares) in the coal mining subsidence area with a total investment of 2.14 billion yuan. In addition to photovoltaic power generation, the local government carries out ecological restoration in the area and plans to develop the planting and breeding industries. [Photo/Xinhua]
