Chongqing shantytown transformed into tourism spot

Tourists visit Dongjie (East Street) in Nanchuan district, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, on July 8, 2021. This street used to be the center of Nanchuan district, but had become a jam-packed shantytown as a result of urbanization. After a preservation and development project in March 2019, the street was transformed into a tourism hot spot. The new street officially went into operation in January 2021. [Photo/Xinhua]
