Thousands involved in Yanqing converter station’s thorough examination

Transmission and transformation equipment at the Yanqing converter station in Beijing is examined on Sept 25, 2021. As the main transmission channel of green electricity for Beijing Winter Olympic Games, the converter station of Zhangbei flexible direct current power grid is undergoing a comprehensive examination ahead of the Games to ensure that 100 percent green electric power is used in all venues. The Zhangbei flexible direct current power grid, with domestically developed core technology and key equipment, has the highest voltage grade in China so far. The Yanqing converter station is specialized in receiving green electric power, and is getting its first examination since its operation began one year ago. Nearly 2,000 maintenance technicians across the country are set to complete over 25,000 maintenance tests to ensure safe and stable green electric power supply for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
