BEIJING - The National Day holiday from Oct 1 to Oct 7 is forecast to be accompanied by rains in northeast and southwest China, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on Oct 1.

Rain and drop in temperature will hit northern and northeastern China sporadically from Oct 1 to 5, according to the NMC forecast. This might create disruptions to some holiday travelers.

From the evening of Oct 1 to Oct 2, some of the northern and northeastern regions, mainly Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces, will see heavy rain, according to the forecast.

From the night on Oct 1 to Oct 5, southwest China including Sichuan and Guizhou provinces and Chongqing are expected to be hit by medium-to-heavy rain, and some of the regions will be battered by rainstorm.
