President Xi Jinping and other leaders of the Communist Party of China and the State, will join representatives from all walks of life in placing flower baskets in Tian'anmen Square for deceased national heroes on Martyrs' Day, which falls on Sept 30. The event will be broadcast live.

Morning:

・ A grand celebration will be held in Tian'anmen Square, attended by President Xi and other leaders. Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will deliver a speech.

・ The celebration will include an 80-minute military parade — the biggest in recent years — followed by a 65-minute pageant in which some 100,000 people and 70 parade floats will participate.

Evening:

A grand gala will be held at Tian'anmen Square with themed performances, shows and fireworks. It is scheduled to last about 90 minutes.
