BEIJING — China's motorcycle sales jumped nearly 30 percent year-on-year in September, data from an industry association showed.
About 1.66 million motorcycles, including three-wheeled motorcycles, were sold in September, up 29.36 percent from a year earlier, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Over 1.63 million motorcycles were produced during the month, up 27.79 percent year-on-year, the data showed.
Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle, a manufacturer based in East China's Zhejiang province, forecast a surge of over 30 times in its net profits attributable to shareholders in the third quarter, according to a company filing last week.
In the January-September period, the country's motorcycle sales rose nearly 5 percent year-on-year to 12.46 million units, 2.95 percentage points higher than the growth for the first eight months of 2019, according to the association.
