NANNING — The 2019 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition kicked off on Oct 18 in the scenic city of Guilin in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Fifty-seven countries and regions, including all 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are participating in the exhibition. Myanmar attended the exhibition as the guest country of honor.
Six exhibition halls were set up under different themes — the Belt and Road, inbound tourism, outbound tourism, tourist consumption, tourist commodities and Guangxi tourist image. A theme park was established to present the natural scenery, history, culture and folk customs of the ASEAN countries.
The exhibition aims to expand the reach of tourism cooperation and enhance participants' comprehensive service capability via building a value chain of exhibitions, according to the organizers.
The exhibition features a great number of singing, dancing and acrobatic performances, showcasing the cultures of the ASEAN countries and Guangxi's ethnic minorities, the organizers said.
