Updated: December 2, 2019 09:25 Xinhua

HANGZHOU — Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Dec 1 piloted the Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) on the AI-powered City Brain platform for the city's Xiacheng District, in a bid to improve its e-government services.

Co-launched by the State Information Center, China Unionpay and China Mobile, the BSN is a nationwide infrastructure platform of blockchain-based service that crosses the public network, as well as multiple regions and organizations.

"The BSN provides easy access to application and rapid promotion of the blockchain technology," said Liu Yunan, head of the State Information Center.

So far, the blockchain technology has been used in three application scenarios on Xiacheng's City Brain platform, including one-stop e-government service, disinfection supervision in hotels and road condition monitoring.

Liu also noted that the BSN will be a credible, reliable and extensible platform that supports China's smart society construction and its digital economy by offering high-quality and individualized technological services.
