BEIJING — China's railways transported 27,992 metric tons of supplies for prevention and control of the novel coronavirus outbreak by Feb 4, according to the China State Railway Group Co Ltd.
The amount of the supplies stood at 110,582 pieces, including 7,325 packs of masks, 11,733 drugs, and diagnostic reagents, 6,132 pieces of equipment and 8,178 life supply items as of 6:00 pm on Feb 4.
Passenger trips dropped 89 percent year-on-year to 1.24 million on Feb 4, and 1.35 million trips are expected on Feb 5, down 88 percent year-on-year, the company said.
As of Feb 4, 482 passengers were reported to have fever symptoms, it said.
All railway stations will continue to carry out temperature measurement for passengers entering and leaving the stations, and passengers are asked to wear masks and cooperate with railway departments when taking railway transport.
