A Letter to Foreign Nationals in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

On Jan 25, 2020, the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee and the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region activated the first-level public health emergency response to tackle the pneumonia epidemic caused by a novel coronavirus, which the authority sees as the top priority. So far, the epidemic control and prevention has been well organized and implemented. We, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, sincerely hope that all foreign nationals in Inner Mongolia could follow the precautions and safety rules recommended below.

Follow information released by authorities. Please visit the official website of the Health Commission of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (http://wjw.nmg.gov.cn/) to learn about the latest development on epidemic control and prevention and designated hospitals to treat novel coronavirus-infected pneumonia in Inner Mongolia. As for data on a national scale, please visit the official website of the National Health Commission (http://www.nhc.gov.cn/).

Take care of personal hygiene. Please minimize outdoor activities, such as parties and get-togethers, and avoid crowded places. Please wear masks (surgical masks recommended if applicable) correctly when you go out, and dispose used ones in a proper and safe way. Please keep away from wild animals and birds. All meat and eggs shall be cooked thoroughly.

If recently you have visited high-risk areas such as Hubei province, or have had direct contacts with people from such areas, please keep a close eye on your health condition, and report to your employer or local community as soon as possible. Please cooperate with community officials and medical staff when your personal information is collected.

If you have symptoms of fever (≥37.3℃), coughing, chest tightness or fatigue, please wear a mask and go to designated hospitals as soon as possible. Your understanding and cooperation is highly appreciated if medical quarantine or hospitalization is required.

If you need any further assistance, please contact us (0471-4824768, 24-hour hotline). Municipal hotlines of the same kind will be launched shortly, and please refer to municipal foreign affairs offices for detailed information.
