BEIJING — China's railways have transported some 35,610 metric tons of supplies for prevention and control of the novel coronavirus outbreak as of 6:00 pm on Feb 6, said the China State Railway Group Co Ltd on Feb 7.
The amount of the supplies stood at 123,086 pieces and included 30,951 tons of life items.
Railway passenger trips dropped 89 percent year-on-year to nearly 1.17 million on Feb 6, and 1.3 million trips were expected on Feb 7, down 87.4 percent from a year ago, the company said.
As of Feb 4, a total of 502 passengers were reported to have fever symptoms, it said.
All railway stations will continue to carry out temperature measurement for passengers entering and leaving the stations, and passengers are asked to wear masks and cooperate with railway departments when taking trains.
