WUHAN — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:
— The Chinese mainland reported 20 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 16 imported cases, on March 14, according to the National Health Commission.
All of the four indigenous cases were reported in Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei province and epicenter of the outbreak.
Of the 16 newly imported cases, five were reported in Beijing, four in Zhejiang province, three in Shanghai and Gansu province respectively, and one in Guangdong province, according to the commission.
— As of March 14, Hubei had seen no newly confirmed COVID-19 cases for 10 consecutive days in its 16 cities and prefectures outside Wuhan.
The city of Wuhan has recorded only single-digit daily increases of new confirmed cases for four days in a row.
— Hubei will introduce differentiated neighborhood management policy as the number of patients continues to drop, the provincial health authorities said on March 14.
The neighborhood lock-down policy will be completely lifted in both urban and rural areas in low-risk areas, loosened in medium-risk areas, while neighborhoods in high-risk areas will still be locked down with traffic control implemented and gatherings banned.
— China has restored normal traffic order in most areas, as 1,117 of the 1,119 closed expressway entrances and exits across the country have re-opened as of March 14 amid an improving epidemic situation.
A total of 549 blocked national, provincial, county and township roads have re-opened, and 11,198 of the 12,028 highway health and quarantine stations have been removed.
