BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:
— A team of 14 medical experts from East China's Fujian province departed on a chartered flight to Italy on March 25 to aid the European country's fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.
— Nearly 20 provinces and cities across China have reopened their tourist sites as the coronavirus outbreak subsides.
China's cultural and tourism industry has turned to digital approaches to deflect the blow delivered by the novel coronavirus, picking up steam in its recovery and boosting fledgling businesses such as virtual tours.
— Construction on 65 airport projects has been resumed across China, representing more than 80 percent of the country's airport projects under construction.
— Beijing has opened four free psychological counseling hotlines for overseas Chinese to help relieve emotional stress caused by the pandemic of novel coronavirus.
— No new domestically transmitted cases of the COVID-19 were reported on the Chinese mainland on March 24.
The National Health Commission received reports of 47 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on March 24, all of which were imported.
— Also on March 24, four deaths and 33 new suspected cases were reported on the mainland with three of the deaths reported in Hubei province.
A total of 491 people were discharged from the hospital after recovery on March 24, while the number of severe cases decreased by 174 to 1,399.
