BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:

— No new domestically transmitted cases of COVID-19 were reported on the Chinese mainland on April 6, the National Health Commission said on April 7.

All of 32 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported on April 6 were from overseas, bringing the total number of imported cases to 983, the commission said in its daily report.

No death was reported on April 6, and 12 new suspected cases, all imported ones, were reported on the mainland.

— April 6 saw 89 people being discharged from hospitals after recovery, and the number of severe cases decreased by 54 to 211.

The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 81,740 by April 6, including 1,242 patients who were still being treated, 77,167 patients who had been discharged after recovery, and 3,331 people who died of the disease.

— There were 89 people suspected of being infected with the virus in China, and 14,499 close contacts were under medical observation. On April 6, 2,365 people were discharged from medical observation.

— China released on April 6 a detailed timeline of its response to COVID-19, chronicling the main facts and measures it has taken in the global joint anti-virus efforts. The document was titled "Timeline of China releasing information on COVID-19 and advancing international cooperation on epidemic response."

— Beijing has resumed all metro and railway construction projects that had been halted due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. The city has planned 21 rail transit projects with an investment of 34 billion yuan ($4.8 billion) this year.

— Coronavirus-hit Hubei province in Central China will launch a series of measures to boost employment of poor residents and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on poverty alleviation.
